I bought this desk for placing my imac. It is the cheapest desk on Amazon with free shipping(except another desk that is too small for an imac). Now I am writing the review on the desk right after assembling it. I am very unsatisfied with its quality.

Firstly, all the screws scattered everywhere in the package. No extra screws. No labels on the parts. The glue spilled out when I opened the plastic bag that contains the glue bottle. Although all these are not big problem as long as you are careful, this still shows the manufacturer has not taken customers’ convenience into consideration.

Secondly, half the holes are not drilled deep enough and are extremely tight. A few holes are no more than mere shallow marks on the surface. Two of the holes are even in wrong places. I don’t have a drill, so it took me a good 1.5 hours to do this seeming simple task of assembling. The wooden panels are thin.

Finally and what is the most annoying, the desk wobbles A LOT on a carpet floor. It leant immediately after I put my computer on it. I am worried an accidental hit on the desk would cause my computer to slide and fall off.

I wouldn’t say you get what you paid for, because this desk is way under my expectation. I can understand for such a low price, I will get a small and basic desk. But the quality is just so cheap cheap cheap. I’ve seen much more sturdy desks at -80 in local Walmart and Office Depot during the August back to school season. This is an awful product.

we needed a small desk for my wife’s laptop and she shopped for this for days look at hundred’s from every where. It came in less than a week the freight company called when it got to our town and set a delivery day and approximate time WOW ! what service .It was well packed and the instructions were very clear and easy to assemble ,all holes and screws aligned up perfectly the finish on the desk was very good lots of space for her accessory’s we recommend this product very highly would buy it again

Delivered quite quickly. I didn’t wait for my husband to come home and put it together, which is what I would usually do cause they are always so difficult to put things like this together. I followed the very easy directions and it went together without any trouble at all! I was very impressed how easy it was. And am just as impressed with the desk itself. Very happy that I purchased this desk. It is not cheaply made, you can tell. Very sturdy and was happy that it didn’t cost a great deal of money. Would recommend to anybody!

I received the desk in a timely manner, but when I opened the box, I noticed a small crack in the desktop. I contacted Sauder, and they immediately sent me out a replacement, and I didn’t need to go through the hassle of resending the cracked desktop. They were great! I would highly recommend this desk…although, if you’re not an avid “assembly-required” person, I would suggest calling a friend. I put it together my self in a few hours while watching TV. (Although I have put together MANY assembly required pieces!)

Pretty nice desk for the price. Was extremely easy to put together. If you get it, I’d recommend using a bit of gorilla glue on the joints, but that’s my opinion. Anyone a few bricks shy of a full load can put this thing together and you don’t have to be handy with the tools either. =P

I got this desk three months ago based just on the looks of it on Amazon. I think it looks better in the photos here than in my room, because almost all of the space is occupied by something. One thing I did not realize, and which the photo does not show, is the fact that the miles of wiring for two computers, printer, speakers, router, etc., will show right through the glass. I will have to work on that with tubing or something. The other thing to note is that the steel frames on the desktop – two outer and two inner – are not flush with the glass. This is a good thing for the outer edges, but the inner frames could be a problem if the monitor is lying on it, or if you want to place your mouse pad over it, which I really wish I could. The frame is about two millimeters above the glass. The glass top has moved a little whenever I have moved the monitors. But other than that, I am pleased with the desk, especially for the price.

I bought this desk as a Christmas present for my mom who wanted a computer work station. Having assembled a plethora of furniture over the years, I would give this item very high marks in ease-of-assembly. All the parts are numbered and all the hardware is individually wrapped by type/size. The printed instructions were adequate and everything went together fairly easily. The only tool needed is a small phillips screwdriver as everything else is included with the package. It’s advisable to have some help when assembling. The desk itself appears well-made and my mom loves it.

I was looking for a computer desk that can fit in my small apartment and I do not want to spend a lot of money on it. And I found this ! I like the fact that this desk is not that heavy because I live in the 3rd floor, and I need to move the box up to my apartment by myself . The desk is very easy to set up, it is a perfect size desk for my 22 inch monitor, and I still have plenty of space for my stationery. To me the desk is very sturdy even after I put my computer on it. It is really a good deal for the price !

My shipment arrived on time and in good condition, nothing was broken or missing. I also bought a 4 tier book case from this seller that match to the desk. I will post a picture of the desk and the book case later on.

CONS:

- This desk is really wobbly. The vertical stands are made of plastic segments that screw one into another, so it should not be a surprise. Even if you ignore safety issues, working at a wobbly desk is not much fun. I would never dare placing my iMac on it.

PROS:

- At , it was easy to justify throwing it out instead of wasting time with disassembling, packing, and sending back.

Let me start by saying that I could not find a desk of this size anywhere else for anywhere near this low price. So, for 9.99, if you need a large computer desk, this is worth the money.

However, assembly is a major pain. The instructions, all 35 steps, are simply diagrams with minimal writing. There are tons of boards that are not marked by any corresponding letter sticker, however the instructions name them all by letter. We spent about 12 man-hours on this assembly, and we consider ourselves experienced at putting furniture together.

Quality is another issue. Many pieces arrived chipped and scratched. The whole set is particle board, although heavy and sturdy. Some other pieces crumbled while inserting the screws. The instructions offer free replacement parts if they arrive damaged but we didn’t bother.

The box arrived marked 149 pounds.

In conclusion, this desk is a decent value for the price. However, don’t expect to get a lifetime-quality piece of furniture here.

This was a good purchase. Like I always do, I shopped online for a week, read all the reviews and, completely confused (a joke) I take a look at my budget. What I can spend is usually the over-riding factor in my decision to buy. Compared to the other desks I was looking at, this one was a very good price.

What I knew going in?

1. It’s a do-it-yourself project.

2. The quality would be decent – not great, but not terrible.

3. It would get damaged in some way during transit. (I’ve done a lot of “put’em togethers” and it happens more often than not.)

4.The actual assembly would be a crap-shoot.

I was reluctant to buy at first because many, many, many, reviews focused on the difficulty of getting the darn thing together. They said the pieces weren’t labeled, there was only an occasional note on the instructions, but it was all drawings. That it took anywhere from 12 hours to “the better part of a day” and you needed a 2nd person and a huge space to do it all. Since I couldn’t afford to spend one more penny, I ordered it.

It arrived just 4 days later, and like the description said it weighed 147lbs. I unpacked it and yes, there were some scratches, mostly hidden after assembly, and one odd ‘crease’ on the face of the desktop.

I’m not bragging here, I just want people to know you can put this together fairly easily and I need to say the warnings in the reviews were actually a big help. Knowing what to expect made it much easier.

What I did?

1. It only took one person (unfortunately it was me).

2. I put it together in a furnished home office, in an 8′ x 6′ area.

3. It took a lot of patience. I didn’t rush the preparation.

4. Out of 44 pieces of wood and larger hardware, ONLY 2 WERE NOT LABELED.

5. Yes, the instructions had almost no words, but the illustrations were easy to follow.

6. Did I mention it took a lot of patience?

The photos and color on the website are accurate, the adjustable shelves are spaced well. The only thing I’m very displeased with is the fact I didn’t realize there was only 1 drawer in this desk! There is a lot of unusable/wasted space.

After all is said and done, it IS a 0 desk.

P.S. Within the 1st week, the latch on the computer cabinet broke.

I needed a computer desk so after many hours of shopping online I though I found the perfect desk…. I read review of this product in “[...]” and it seemed that this was a descent product but….

2. Difficult assembly: I enjoy assembling furniture but this was no fun. Some of the screws don’t even go into the holes, some of the screws are very small that it’s difficult to place them in the holes; also as screws go in the pain comes off from the furniture.

3. The rolling keyboard tray and the draw do not roll back smoothly. They need extra push to go in and make noise while moving.

I do not recommend this product.

This product is not worth the money.
