The computer is now a basic  part of our everyday lives, be it at work, school or even at home. It is vital in the new business world. Since it is a need that we can’t avoid, all we can do is make the most of it. There is, however, another important aspect that is often ignored by almost everyone. Since computers are very important, we also need to provide a place for it to be safe and for us to be able to maximize its use. I’m talking about the computer workstation desktop. It comes in different sizes, different designs and different prices; and you have to pick the right one that won’t hold you back with your work.

There are actually a lot of online department stores that are selling such furniture. You don’t have to pick the expensive ones as they don’t necessarily mean they’re good quality. Some workstation desktops are only expensive because of the type of materials it’s made from. The quality of materials used are indeed important since it is a factor that decides on its durability however, that is not the most important thing that you have to look for.

The most important aspect is the ergonomics. It is concerned with the compatibility between man and equipments. There are actually a lot of technological equipments that puts us in an uncomfortable position. If we are constantly exposed to this uncomfortable position for a long time, our body will eventually develop certain strain injuries. It could give us constant body pains and worst, permanently distort our posture.

Therefore, the most important thing you should consider in buying a workstation desktop is how comfortable you are with your prolonged position while working in it. This can be done by following the ideal seating ergonomics. Make sure that you have proper lumbar support in your chair. Lumbar refers to the bottom five vertebrates of the spine in your lower back. The ideal lumbar support would have an inclination of 120 degrees. You have to make sure that your eyes will be at the same level to the top most part of the screen. This is to ensure that you will have the recommended 45degree viewing angle measured from your eyes in relation to the top and bottom most part of the screen and a viewing distance of 18 to 24 inches in between. Both feet must touch the floor and the angle from your knees to the legs and thighs must be 90 degrees.  Your elbows must bend at a 90 degree angle with your wrist directly extending to the keyboard.  Make sure you have enough space to move around.

That’s pretty much the basic aspects you have to consider when purchasing a computer workstation desktop. Once you see some candidates that meets this ergonomic criteria, then you can now start thinking about the different features that you want to have. You can start considering the type of materials used, the color or probably. There should be a lot of good ones out there.
